Skilled Nursing Regional Business Office Consultant

Responsible for overseeing the training and auditing of Otterbein Small House Neighborhoods as it relates to admissions and revenue cycle. This position will interact with many different partners within the Small House Neighborhoods and the Home Office.


  • Train and back-up Neighborhood Business Office Coordinators.
  • Maintain Business Office training manual for admissions and revenue cycle.
  • Audit Medicaid Applications. Provide training and assistance in this area as needed.
  • Audit AR aging cases.       Provide training and assistance in this area to both neighborhood staff and AR department as needed.
  • Audit insurance verifications. Provide training and assistance in this area as needed.
  • Audit admissions and referrals. Provide training and assistance in this area as needed.
  • Provide Department of Health survey readiness training.
  • Assist with verification of daily census.
  • Support VP of Neighborhood Operations and Internal Auditor with special projects.
  • Must adhere to the Corporate Compliance Program, including confidentiality HIPPA protected health information.


Skills Required:


  • Strong organizational and excellent customer service skills.
  • Attention to detail and follow through. Will be handling multiple projects at one time.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Will be working with all levels of the organization and many times remotely.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team setting.
  • Will be project manager for special projects and initiatives.
  • Ability to travel weekly. At least 1 overnight per week.




  • Good working knowledge of PointClickCare nursing home billing software required.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Prior experience as a Business Office Manager in a skilled nursing facility preferred.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of Medicare, Medicaid and MyCareOhio rules and regulations.
  • Proficient with Resident Trust regulations, including Qualified Income Trust.
  • Thorough understanding of Ohio Department of Health regulations in a long term care setting.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred; however, significant relevant, documented experience in the field will be considered.
