Plans, organizes, and conducts dietetic education for organization personnel.  Functions as a member of the care team with expertise in nutritional counceling.


  1. Develops and implements a nutritional plan based on an assessment of nutritional needs. This plan is included in the patient’s plan of care.
  2. Evaluates and reports results of nutrition appropriately.
  3. Instructs care personnel to:
  • Provide appropriate counseling to individuals and families/caregivers
  • Evaluate and instruct on nutritional principles, dietary plans, food selections and economics.
  • Adapt plans to the individual’s life style, as indicated
  • Reevaluate nutritional care by providing follow-up care.
  1. Communicates appropriate dietary history and nutritional care data in the clinical record.
  2. Records subjective and objective information, assessment, and treatment plan, in the clinical notes including a discharge summary
  3. Communicates with clinician regarding patient’s progress and treatment goals.
  4. Maintains confidentiality and safety of patient clinical records.
  5. Complies with the Organization’s policies and procedures.
  6. Performs other duties as assigned.

  1. Preferably, holds a Master's degree from an accredited institution with major in foods, nutrition, or dietetics, and successful completion of an internship of equivalent experience.
  2. Successfully completed courses in methods and principles of nutrition counceling.
  3. A member of and is registered in the American Dietetic Association.
  4. Pessesses and maintains current CPR Ceritication
