The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for providing leadership to the volunteer services department, and providing a social environment with numerous daily interactions.
Education: Bachelors’ degree and 2 years or equivalent experience.
Experience: Must be able to interact and communicate effectively with the older population and have 1 to 3 years’ experience working with this population. Must have 1-2 years’ experience effectively managing a Volunteer Program. Must be computer literate with ability to work in multiple and complex software programs. Must be self-directed and an independent worker who does not require daily direct supervision. Must be strong in time management and setting work priorities. Must be experienced in managing programs. Must be experienced in communicating to groups of people and individuals and motivating them. Must be able to create statistical reports and write effective documents and plans. Must be able to work and communicate effectively with a professionally diverse partner team. Must be able to work with all levels of background and education as well as persons with cognitive and physical limitations. Must be able to make independent decisions based on the best available information when the situation demands. Excellent verbal and written communication required. Must be an effective team member and support other departments. Must engage in the Otterbein Experience culture and exhibit the 21 expected behaviors.
