Overview

In keeping with our United Methodist tradition, we seek to enhance the quality of life and holistic growth of older persons by providing high quality service in a cheerful, timely manner and by communicating, coordinating, and cooperating with others to attain goals.

Responsibilities

  1. Maintain Resident rights and confidentiality.
  2. Interact positively with residents, family members, employees, visitors and Contractors/Vendors under a variety of conditions and circumstances.
  3. Complete Maintenance requests. Periodically review status of requests.
  4. Submit pest control requests to appropriate person.
  5. Check set up sheet daily.
  6. Complete set ups and tear-downs.
  7. Schedule resident moves.
  8. Move residents as scheduled.
  9. Move residents on an “emergency” basis as needed.
  10. Complete all items on the Resident move checklist for each resident move.
  11. Set up resident rooms with Otterbein loaner furniture when needed. Place furniture in the room to meet residents’ needs.
  12. Complete all record-keeping pertaining to moves and set-ups/tear-downs.
  13. Organize Housekeeping loaner furniture in 107 Philippi.
  14. Must be able to multitask.
  15. Deliver and pick up clean and soiled Laundry at Mathews Hall Monday-Friday.
  16. Empty trash in CC 25 on a regular basis. Take items from room to Shaker Cellar as needed.
  17. Organize and complete Shaker Cellar pickup and delivery.
  18. Assist Shaker Cellar workers as needed.
  19. Organize and schedule office moves, furniture deliveries, etc.
  20. Will be required to work July 4th, Fish Fry, Saturday after Thanksgiving, Renaissance Festival, and any other Special Events as needed.
  21. Will be required to work weekend days as needed for room set ups for Special Events.
  22. Help deliver mail at Christmas season.
  23. May be asked to perform other duties as needed to meet the needs of the department.

Qualifications

Education:  High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Experience:  Movers experience preferred but not required.

Physical Demand:  Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods.  Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, stretch, climb, and kneel.  Must be able to hear, see, and smell in order to respond to resident needs.  Must be able to lift small equipment and furnishings.  Must be able to lift large equipment, mattresses, TV’s, etc. with help.

Licensure/Certification:  Must have a valid drivers’ license and must be insurable by Otterbein standards to drive company vehicles.
